There is a tool for everything. Whether you are taking out clips from a webinar or converting a podcast into an audiogram, there are tools for everything that will simplify it.
That’s the beauty of the digital world. You don't need to do everything manually.
Here are 5 tools that will make content repurposing even easier for you:
- Descript
- Chopcast
- Audacity
- Auphonic
- Canva
Let’s learn more about each tools one by one
#Tool 1: Descript
It is primarily an audio and video editing tool. Along with that, it provides features like Overdub, which allows you to create a text-to-speech synthesis of your own voice, project organisation and publishing features. You can invite collaborators and enable the commenting option on your work. You also get transcribing features.
Descript provides 4 plans - Free, Pro, Creator and Enterprise. You can use quite a lot of features for free.
Descript has to be installed in your computer. To do so, you have to go to the website and click on "get started for free, " then sign in using Gmail. You will receive a mail with the installation link. Just click on it and the process will start automatically. Descript has two versions - one for Mac and one for windows. It is also supported by Linux and Chromebook.
#Tool 2: Chopcast
It is a content repurposing platform where you can convert long videos into clips. This platform is exclusively for videos. The advantage of Chopcast is that it automatically identifies clips from the video you upload. You can make edits and tweaks to those identified clips. This will save a lot of time as you have to sit, watch the video and note down the exact timestamp. If not 100%, this will at least reduce your work by 85%. Obviously there will be few clips that you will have to find out manually. Chopcast also provides subtitling and resizing options.
You can select a plan according to the product or service. Unfortunately, there is no free plan. You only get a 7 day free trial. In Chopcast, you get charged according to the upload minutes, that is, the duration of the original videos you're uploading.
#Tool 3: Audacity
Available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and other Unix-like operating systems, Audacity is a free and open-source digital audio editor and recording application. This platform is exclusively for audio editing. You will have to download the software, there is no web version available.
If you have a podcast, then you will love this software. Moreover, it's FREE! With tons of features.
#Tool 4: Auphonic
Auphonic is another audio editing platform, but it runs on the web. You don't need to download it.
There are different pricing packages according to the number of hours of processed audio. It provides free 2 hours of processed audio per month. It is only supported by Mac and Windows. Unlike Audacity, it does not support Linux and Chromebook.
#Tool 5: Canva
Canva is a graphic designing tool. There is a web version as well as a mobile application. You can design and create slide decks, social media posts, newsletters, and more. There are hundreds of templates to choose from. You can even edit videos to a certain extent.
Canva also has 3 versions - Free, Pro and Teams. Even in the free version, there are quite a lot of designs available. There is a choice to pay for only the pro features you are using in a particular design.
With this we come to the end of my list.
All these tools might not reduce your repurposing work by 100% but will definitely make the process faster and more efficient.
